The following page is devoted to some of my photographs of "Waterbirds," which are those birds that like to hang out on or near water. These birds are Non-Passerines (ie. not songbirds), and tend to be larger and usually lay white eggs.
Most of the birds shown on this page were photographed in Washington or British Columbia (where I lived until 2019), and a few perhaps from my travels around the western United States. Now I live in Colorado, so I will begin to add more photos of new local birds to my photo lists, as I have time and opportunity to do bird photography. However, I have many other bird photos that are not on this page, from an amazing
Birding Roadtrip through several birding hotspots across the country I embarked on in Spring 2008. If a bird appears in my birding road trip I make note of it as well as the state in which I saw it.
Disclaimer: With bird photography, by first goal is to just document the bird sighting, and after I've done that my goal becomes getting a good photo of the bird. So my bird photos range from identification "I've seen that bird" photos to good "I'd hang that on my wall" photos.
