Website Statistics

This page summaries the timeline and popularity of my website.
Timeline, number of viewers, number of page views, demographics, popular pages, etc.

Intro

Google Analytics allows me to track almost any conceivable statistic regarding the traffic on my website. For any range of time, Google Analytics quantifies unique visitors, total visitors, average length of time on site, average number of pageviews, traffic on specific pages, traffic from specific cities or states or countries, etc. Because it is interesting, I show some of the statistics below.

The statistics are broken into blocks of time representing the various stages of my website:

Timeline of My Website

  • June 2006: Begin website, using Googlepages. (I did not set up Google Analytics until Sept 2009, so there is no visitor tracking data for the first few years of my website.)

  • September 2009: Set up Google Analytics. (From this point on I have data on how many visitors I have to my website. )

  • March 2011: I established this "Websites Statistics" page. (The statistics in the block Sept 2009-March 2011 represent 18 months, so the values were multiplied by 12/18 to be comparable to a year-long block. Note that no data is shown for the 3-month period between March 2011 and June 2011.)

  • June 2011: I migrated my website from Googlepages to Googlesites. (The statistics in the June-December 2011 block represent 7 months so the values were multiplied by 1.7 (≈12/7) to be comparable to a year-long block.)

  • November 2020: I re-created my website in Googlesites New, since the Classic version I had been using since 2011 was being terminated by the end of the year. Re-creating my website took hundreds of hours, and if I had not been recovering from an ACL + meniscus injury I may not have had the time to re-create it. (The statistics in the January-December 2020 block represent 11 months so the values were multiplied by 1.09 (≈12/11) to be comparable to a year-long block.) Notice that the number of unique viewers was quite a bit decreased in 2021, likely because my new website was no longer showing up first in Google searches and because broken links to my old website discouraged viewers from finding my new site.

  • January-March 2025: Completely rebuilt my site on a new Wordpress platform. This was a full time effort for several months but finally I ended up with a website I am proud of! Published to the web on March 11, 2025 as a Desktop version and Mobile-friendly features added in the subsequent month.

Website Stats by Year

The following table summarizes the number of unique users, number of pageviews, my website's most popular pages, and user demographics. It is in reverse chronological order.
