You might be thinking: What’s this page? I’ve never seen it before! Do I need to log in now? Here’s the story…

In 2026, my website turns 20. For nearly two decades, I’ve poured my heart into documenting classic climbs across the western US — detailed trip reports, high-resolution route overlays, pitch-by-pitch photos, maps, and all the beta I wished I had when I first tied in. What started as a personal project has grown into a full-time effort to share climbing knowledge freely with the community.

Right now, I’m 42, between jobs, living in my RAV4, and keeping this site alive — and improving it — matters more than ever. Maintaining and expanding a resource of this size takes a lot of time and energy, and continuing to offer it for free is becoming increasingly challenging.

More than once, a friend or climbing partner has joked, “So Steph, when is Steph’s 50 Classics coming out?” It’s an idea that’s been simmering in the back of my mind for years — and support from this website could finally make it possible.

To continue sustaining the site and producing new content, moving to a subscription model has become necessary. I hope both longtime supporters and new visitors can understand.

For $25 per year — less than the cost of a single guidebook — you can help sustain this project, support the creation of new content, and ensure the archives of trip reports remain available for years to come.

If my work has offered you useful beta, inspiration, joy, or just something fun to read over coffee, I’d be deeply grateful for your support.

Thank you for being part of this community — and for helping keep this project climbing onward.

Ads? What's with that?

Originally, I considered a subscription for access. But I wanted to keep the site fully accessible to everyone. So I compromised by adding ads — and offering an ad-free access option. For $25/year, this option not only removes the ads from your experience but also helps support the site, keep me going, and ensure this resource remains online for years to come — all for less than the cost of a single guidebook.

If my work has offered you useful beta, inspiration, joy, or just something fun to read over coffee, I’d be deeply grateful for your support.

Thank you for being part of this community — and for helping keep this project climbing onward.
