This page provides links to my trip reports in Europe, which so far have just been a few trips to Italy and Switzerland and Spain.
I have visited Italy on two occasions. The first time was in Nov-Dec 2010, when I spent five weeks in northern Italy as a TA for an engineering course at the ROSE School in Pavia. Despite the fact that I had a broken leg (due to a serious climbing accident that fall), making Italy an obstacle course of train stations, Fiats, cobblestones, and stairs, I managed to do several unique day trips to nearby areas (like Cinque Terre, Lake Como, Certosa di Pavia, Pisa, Lucca, Milan, Trento-Bolzano-Renon, and Venice). Since at the time I planned on someday climbing in the Dolomites, writing a trip report of my crutching adventures was a good way to set up an Italy section for my website. Indeed, three years later, in August 2013, following a hiking trip in Switzerland with my parents, I met up with my friend from Munich and we climbed some long moderate classic routes in the Dolomites. Hopefully I will be back again, but Italy is pretty far from Washington so it might be awhile.
I have visited Switzerland for two fantastic adventures (2005 with my sister and 2013 with my parents) hiking the Walker's Haute Route from Chamonix to Zermatt as well as an attempt of the Matterhorn with my sister in 2005 (weather prevented us from making the summit, but we did pretty well for being only 20 and 22 years old). Someday I hope to reach the summit of the Matterhorn.
I visited Spain in 2025, on a one-month sport climbing trip. We visited Siurana and Chulilla, which both offer excellent climbing on steep limestone walls, with routes often up to 40m in length. This trip was a wonderful unique experience.

Trip Report Navigation Option #3 (not available on mobile):
Trip Reports by Month
CHRONOLOGICAL LIST | WHERE TO CLIMB IN Europe IN THE WINTER? SPRING? SUMMER? FALL?
Selecting multiple months at once will usually result in no result. But it is a page (like a cragging page) where I have visited the area multiple times, you may get a result.
The date shown on the thumbnail represents the most recent trip report on the page, if the page represents multiple days of climbing.

I've made a handful of climbing/hiking trips to Europe over the years, such as the Walker's Haute Route in 2005 and 2013, Dolomites in 2013, and Spain in 2025. I also was a TA in Italy in November-December 2010, but despite the fact I had badly broken my leg before the trip, I crutched all over exploring various areas.
